We live in a three bed roomed terraced house in the village of Hayfield, Derbyshire.
The house is arranged over 4 floors and overlooks the village cricket pitch and park. There are two living rooms on the ground floor. We have flat screen Tv, Dvd player, Sky and Internet access. There is an open fire and french doors which lead onto a small balcony. This is a great place to sit with a coffee and the newspapers or a cool glass of something, watching the cricket. There are two bedrooms on the first floor both of which have single beds although they each have trundle beds beneath. There is a small shower room. The master bedroom is in the loft conversion on the top floor where there is a king sized bed. The head height is restricted a little but my husband is 6'3 and manages fine. There is small en suite bathroom. The kitchen/diner is on the Lower ground floor. There is a washing machine, dishwasher, single oven, ceramic hob and toaster. There is direct access into the garden which is quite small, laid out as a York stone patio with table and chairs and flower beds with lots of colourful plants during the spring and summer months. There is a gate leading directly on to the cricket field which all rooms at the back of the house have a superb view of. The cricket field is adjacent to the park which has a small play area for children, including a large sandpit and a tennis court. There is a pub to the other side of the cricket field. The village has a few shops including a general store, green grocers and fish and chip shop. There are a number of pubs, several of which serve great food. These are within a few minutes walk. The village is really beautiful and is soon to be the setting in a BBC period drama called "The Village". There is a large church and the River Sett flows through the centre of the village. There is a great coffee shop which does lovely food, including a great range of cakes. Hayfield is right on the perimeter of the Peak National Park and there are many stunning walks on the doorstep. Kinder Scout is the highest mountain in the county can be reached within a short walk, at least the lowlands can be, it's more of a walk to reach the plateau!
